Fort Lee is located in the center of Hopewell, Colonial Heights, and Petersburg. In addition, it is within easy commute of Prince George and Chesterfield Counties.
Fort Lee provides logistical support for the US Army and operations around the world. Located on the installation are the Combined Arms Support Command, U.S. Army Garrison, Army Logistics College, Quartermaster Center and School, and the headquarters for the Defense Commissary Agency. Fort Lee is currently experiencing expansion due to the 2005 BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) and is expected to continue growing.
Fort Lee’s population includes more than 7,900 military and more than 4,500 Civilians. The post also provides employment for more than 4,000 civilians.
